Inspection Scheduling Procedure
Inspection requests are taken by telephone only via live staff.
**Please note: Voice mail message requests will not be honored.

To schedule an inspection please call (440) 349-6737, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Calls received between 8 - 9 a.m. may be scheduled for the same day as the call, depending on inspection staff availability.
**Note: plumbing inspections may not be available every day depending on staff availability.

All inspection requests received 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. will be scheduled for the next business day.

The information required at time of inspection request is:

1. Project address
2. Permit Number
3. Type of Inspection(s) being requested
4. Caller/requester phone number & name
5. Inspection time (a.m. or p.m.). Specific times may be requested but are not guaranteed.

Joint Inspections & Specialty System Inspections by the Solon Fire Prevention Bureau & Solon Building Department
These inspection types are also scheduled through the Building Department with the same procedure listed above:

• Life Safety (Final)
• Kitchen Hoods
• Fire Suppression Systems
• Fire Alarm Systems

Required Inspections

• Inspections - Required for commercial and residential family buildings (4 or more families)
• Inspections - Required for exterior decks residential 1, 2, & 3 family buildings
• Inspections - Required for residential 1, 2, & 3 family buildings
• Inspections - Required for residential 1, 2, & 3 family reroofing

Complete the Special Inspection & Testing Agreement Form as required.
